The Card Game

Ducky Ducky Goose

Everyone's included - no one left out!

Ducky Ducky Goose is inspired by the classic playground game "Duck, Duck, Goose!" - where one child walks around the circle, taps others on the head, and chooses someone to chase them. But in the traditional game, not everyone always gets picked, and that can leave some children feeling left out.
This card game changes that: everyone gets chosen and everyone gets chased, so every child is part of the action. The result? More laughter, more excitement, and more connection for the hole group.
What's inside:

Our mission: You're good enough - exactly as you are. You belong, and you are an important part of the game and the group. Each round encourages children to be kind, gentle, friendly, and compassionate with each other - and never to leave anyone out. It's a sweet, constant reminder to reach for higher heights and discover the best within themselves.

Instructions for playing the Game

  • Step 1:

    Prepare the Cards
Your deck includes 10 Goose cards. To start, we recommend using only 5 Goose cards.
    • Remove the extra Goose cards and instruction cards.
    • Shuffle the remaining cards thoroughly.
    • Add more Goose cards for additional players or a faster-paced game (Find variations online).
    • For your first round, stick with 5 Goose cards.
  • Step 2:

    Deal the Cards
Deal the cards evenly to all players until the deck runs out. Each player keeps their cards face-down in a pile in front of them — no peeking!
  • Step 3:

    How to Play
Players take turns in clockwise order. On their turn:
    • Flip over the top card and place it face-up in front of you.
    • Say what the card is:
    • If it’s a Ducky card → say “Ducky!” and the turn simply passes to the next player.
    • If it’s a Goose card → say “Goose!” — and a chase begins!
Goose Card – Time to Chase!
    • The player who flipped the Goose stands up and chases the player to their left.
    • The chased player jumps up and runs around the outside of the circle, trying to return to their spot.
    • The chaser must stand up and run — no reaching or leaning over from their place.
    • Everyone should play fair and give the other player a real chance to run.
  • Step 4:

    Tag Rules
    • If the chased player sits down before being tagged → they stay in the game.
    • If they are tagged before sitting down → they are out and must sit outside the circle for the rest of this game.
    • Tag with care! Safe play makes the game more fun for everyone.
  • Step 5:

     When a Player is Out
    • The player gives their remaining cards to the others.
    • These cards are dealt evenly among the remaining players.
    • Some players may get one more card than others — that’s okay.
    • The out player sits outside the circle for the rest of this game.
  • Step 6:

    Running Out of Cards
If all players run out of cards before there’s a winner:
    • Gather all the cards, shuffle them, and deal them out evenly again.
    • Continue playing as usual.
  • Step 7:

    End of the Game
Keep playing until only one player remains.
    That player is the winner!
  • Things to Keep in Mind:

    • Make sure the play area is clear and safe for running
    • Players must run around the outside of the circle — no blocking or shortcuts
    • Always tag gently and play fair
    • Adult supervision is recommended for young children
    • Play at your own risk - Let the fun begin! Stay on your toes — and don’t get caught. The last duck standing wins!
